It was hilarious the first time Dr. Jackson ran into her. Especially when he pitched a hissy fit and did that "I'm-sqeezing-your-head-between-my-fingers" thing to her head on the surveillance screen.

I'm so ashamed. I am so sick of these "ethnic achievement" news stories, I was going to write, "No kidding! Tilc has been on the show since day 1!" (Several bad guys have been rather black too.)
Vala: She's the bad-girl type with the long, black hair, right? I HATE that I like her so much. I'm afraid it means I'm really messed up: If she was a guy, I'd simply hate her. And it's not like she's so visually attractive, either.

I get so tired of their p.c. bull-oney.
The minority and women characters will continue to be the ultra-educated, wise, sane, super smart players who will always rescue the others (Duh, who would THEY be?) from the standard geekism, idiocy, weakness and otherwise stupid messes they (Duh, who would THEY be?) get themselves into.
The only exception is the general in charge.
Eventually he will retire and one of the "chosen" will replace him.
THIS kind of racism/sexism is continually promoted by self/America-hating Sleazywood.
It was best with Jack on it. He always made things very clear, simple and was no one's fool.

WooHoo! Claudia Black is a major babe.
Jason Momoa needs to hit the weight room. He isn't convincing as a bad-ass, at least to me. Sure, he can kill a Wraith but Teal'c could break him in half.

At least the new guy is better than Lt. Ford (it is an insult to have a guy with a name as Rainbow playing a Marine)..

And it's not like she's so visually attractive, either.Vala always gets the best lines, if you haven't noticed. She's the "bad girl" who gets to show off her stuff (boobs, butt and crotch in tight, low-cut, short clothing--a.k.a, cheesecake--with the nonchalance of "Who me? My boobs are hanging out? I DIDN'T notice. Really, I didn't."), continually act out (which is always the MOST fun for an actor or actress) and usually be right, especially when she gets to rescue the stupid "....." men.
She's written exactly the way you see her. She was given exactly the role you see her in. Sleazywood knows how to do that very well.
It is NOT accidental. It's pure packaged agenda.
"Ethnic achievement"? Nice euphemism. :o)

I found Claudia Black very sexy in Farscape but in Stargate SG-1 I haven't cared for her as much...they have her too much an sex kitten/tease in Stargate vs the her own underlying sex drive/libido she seem to be trying to keep in check and the tension from it in Farscape...less is more

Stargate has had a LOT of women show off a LOT; That's not it. It definitely IS that she "acts out" the most... and definitely with very immature mannerisms. That's why I hate that I like her: it means I LIKE immaturity
Not that Carter wasn't my favorite female TV character for a few years running. Especially when she was at her nerdiest. I still wouldn't say I like Vana more than Carter.

Excellent news. I like her a lot.
