Out-of-state veterinarians are banned from volunteering their services on behalf of the animals of greater New Orleans. Rescuers have been threatened with arrest if they attempt to give food and water to animals in Orleans Parish.

-----If they are volunteering and it doesn't cost the state anything, why can't they help instead of let them die in the streets. (just asking)

These animals need to be put to sleep. Feeding and caring for them only aggravates the problem. Who knows what diseases they may be carrying.

Before I get flamed by those who own pets, please don't take my post out of context. It's admirable what volunteers are doing and I think NO & LA has their heads up the rear as usual.
