Article on Original Announcement
Last week, GameSpy ran an article detailing the "New Game Enchancements" that SOE and LucasArts were applying to Star Wars Galaxies. To say that article touched a nerve would be an understatement, with an overwhelming amount of responses from readers critical of the changes that are being made to the game.
The "NGE," as it's called, will fundamentally change Star Wars Galaxies into a new game, turning what was a fairly "old-school" MMO into a more action-oriented experience, not unlike Diablo and Dungeon Siege. The changes will trickle down to every aspect of the game, from its formerly deliberate and methodical combat system to its expansive and highly-customizable class system.
Many veterans, as you might expect, are not too keen on seeing the system that they've grown accustomed undergo such fundamental changes in such a short span of time. Following last week's article and the subsequent feedback, we exchanged several questions back and forth with Julio Torres, Galaxies' Producer at LucasArts. Many of these questions came directly from feedback to that original interview, and the answers can be seen below, followed by our own thoughts on what this all means.

Being a long time player of that game(near 2.5 years now) and knowing others who played it. They pulled the rug out from under their most loyal customers going for new players in the console market. It was all done in secret while baiting people to pay $30 for an expansion that was in 2 weeks after its release going to be worthless.
What Sony Online Entertainment and Lucas Arts did to it's customers borders on the criminal. This has to be the biggest fraud on a player base in the history of online gaming. Think twice before buying anything from Sony Online Entertainment or Lucas Arts.

I've been playing City of Heroes for quite some time now and they just recently messed with the skill enhancement system, making my hero far less powerful than he has been for over a year.
After the awful launch of SWG I'm surprised anyone is still playing that horrid game. WoW & DAoC are much better games.
JT: We will continue to improve the game in areas wherever it is deemed needed to make the game fun and enjoyable for all players.
Well, that's a reassuring answer.
