Yeah gas turines are used in both my vehicles and in the mechs. They are actually air-independant turbine system which are beginning to see use on newer non-nuclear subs. Although they do not require liquid oxygen. They use an alternate oxydant.

I think the Swedes have subs that operate on a similar principle where they store compressed air to run their diesels underwater.
