SCI FI Channel announced that it has renewed its original series Battlestar Galactica for a third season. Production on the 20-episode order is slated to begin in Vancouver, Canada, in February 2006 for premiere later in the year, the network said.
The entire ensemble cast returns for the new season, including Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Katee Sackhoff, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, Tricia Helfer and Grace Park. Also returning are executive producer and writer Ronald D. Moore and executive producer David Eick.
Currently in its second season, Galactica is a hit with audiences. The second season resumes with new episodes on Jan. 6, 2006, as part of the winter premiere of SCI FI Friday. Battlestar Galactica is from NBC Universal Television Studio.
Yep, they took care of the Sinclair storyline very well.
Good news is Braga is out and I think Berman is next..
There's the new Star Wars TV series coming in the next few years too.
It'll open huge obviously, but who knows in the long term. I loved the 1-3, BTW. They got better with each one. Lucas seemed to be done just as he perfected the series.
I'm not nearly enamored with BSG as others are, but it's alright. Grace Park is one fine Cylon.
:-)
"Six versions ? No. Six said she was version 6 of 12. And under torture Sharon confirmed that."
You can hardly throw a rock in SF without someone making a Prisoner reference.
Six of one, half a dozen of the other.
Be seeing you...
Star Trek:TNG was costing over 3 mil an episode in the last season. No surprise why sci-fi shows don't make it longer than 7 seasons.
I still want to figure out who left the note for Adama originally telling him that there were 12 variants....
Suggestion: Lose the word "Frak".
It was a Prisoner reference.
But you know what they say. Questions are a burden to others and answers a prison to oneself.
Be seeing you...
It could only be Baltar because Six told him.
Its coming out on 12/20 on DVD
John Sheridan (Bruce Boxleitner) was much more interesting than Sinclair ever dreamed of being.
Are you sure that DS9 stole from B5? I thought DS9 was first.
If the DVD sales are great, which I think they'll be due to the rewatchablity of the movie, we should at least get two direct to DVD movies.
And I think it was a good move on Sci-fi's part to renew Galactica for another season. I hope SG:SG1 and SG:A are renewed.
JMS wouldn't have succeeded. DS9 was out a year before B5 was.
That's because Mr. Lucas was out of practice and has finally shaped up.
By the way, have you checked out the Clone Wars animation? It rocks!!
My biggest lament: Sam Witwer who plays Crashdown was killed off. Man talk about yummie!
