SCI FI Channel announced that it has renewed its original series Battlestar Galactica for a third season. Production on the 20-episode order is slated to begin in Vancouver, Canada, in February 2006 for premiere later in the year, the network said.
The entire ensemble cast returns for the new season, including Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Katee Sackhoff, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, Tricia Helfer and Grace Park. Also returning are executive producer and writer Ronald D. Moore and executive producer David Eick.
Currently in its second season, Galactica is a hit with audiences. The second season resumes with new episodes on Jan. 6, 2006, as part of the winter premiere of SCI FI Friday. Battlestar Galactica is from NBC Universal Television Studio.

Let me know if there's some way for those of us who missed the second half of season 2 to catch up on the story.

They had just met up with the Pegasus at the end of season two - only to discover that the Admiral of the Pegasus is insane and they were on the verge of armed conflict with one another.

Season two is only 1/2-way done. It returns with 10 more episodes starting in January, I think.

This is not surprising considering it is probably the #1 rated on the SciFi Channel.

The best part of the old Galactica series was the two parter with the Pegasus. Adama and Commander Cain made a fantastic team. A pity more could not have been done with it.

I tried to get into this series remake, but I just couldn't do it...especially after trying to portray a piece of Victoria's Secret eye candy as being a member of a cabal of evil mechanical satans. That ranked right up there with trying to spook people that an evil beast lurks in the night and have it manifest as a puppy licking your face.

Cool. I've heard this is a great show, and I've been waiting for it on DVD.
Now when will this unbelievably good show get a comeback?

SciFi Channel will be running a 2-hour pilot movie for the series 'Eureka' soon, also. I saw the pilot at a test screening a few months ago here in Las Vegas and it was very good. SciFi Channel is where it's at! ;-)

Big mistake.
This goes a long way to filling the void in my life since "Babylon 5" ended.

What happend to the orginal, was it to expensive to produce the show. I think it cost over a million each episode.. The ratings was decent.
