Imagine no possessions,
I wonder if you can.
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man. Even you would have to recognize the utter hypocrisy of a guy who sings this kind of childish nonsense by night, then drives around Manhattan in a $150,000 Bentley by day.

So I take it that Elton John coming out as a homosexual IYHO makes him nasty and de-values his contribution in music for over 30 years?

I'm sorry what country hit did Elton produce? Maybe someone can track down the song Elton played while he had young men dressed as boy scouts stripped down to their tighty whiteys.
Yeah thats real country!

I didn't watch because I can't get CBS on my TV with rabbit ears. I'm sure I missed some good performances.
About the song "Arlington". I read in Country Music weekly that Trace Adkins has sworn off singing it in concerts because it upset some people. What gives?

Elton's contributions to pop music pretty much ended with the release of Blue Moves back in the 70s....these days he's pretty much what you'd call an 'adult comptemporary' artist.

Trace Adkins has sworn off singing it in concerts because it upset some people. What gives? From what I've read, the dems have stirred the controversy by saying that Trace and conservatives are glorifying the death of our servicemen/women.
It's just the same old spew from the left. I'm sure Adkins just wants to lessen the hyperbole.

Don't know why Adkins has stopped singing "Arlington" at concerts but I do know I have to turn off the radio at work or in the car because the song literally turns me into a big pile of tears.

I thought it was nice that they included some country singers/bands every now and then. Where were all the the country greats like Reba, George Jones, Clint Black, Randy Travis, Travis Tripp ... etc. Seriously, that was not a country music show last night.
To: laney
I attended the CMA's when they were staged at Disney studios, and then at Universal Studios.
At disney, I walked behind the stage drop and I met the Judd's face to face. Not a big country singer fan, I politely said hello, and asked my husband who they were when we had passed them. He didn't know either. Now I know exactly who those gals are.
At Universal I went into the bar at the Sheraton, and saw Garth Brooks. and Randy Travis not too far away. I was and still am impressed with a lot of these singers
Wow.

Nobody's going to dare sing another "Have You Forgotten" a la Daryl Worley. The Dems won't do anything that will further patriotism, because that will help re-elect Republicans. Sad!
