Heres an added bonus, everyone. Last week, Anselma sent me an idea from a long time ago involving George McGovern. Here was the idea:
Here's an old one, from the time that Paul Wellstone died, they dragged out poor old George McGovern to "run" in his place, in the recent Presidential Primaries. t was after that infamous funeral where the Dems were seen plotting and laughing.
Well, old George McG made a bold, campaign statement and this is a direct quote (or darned close to it)below.
My thoughts are for a one-picture, editorial-type toon: McGovern, front and center, open-mouthed, face full of wrinkles, maybe in tattered clothes, with a ratty old bird sitting on his shoulder- or on his head-the bird could be smiling slyly? and McGovern with tufts of hair sticking out above his ears (or from his ears), with one hand punching into the other fist (as he actually did, when saying this)... and, in the background an itty bitty jet, about to stream into- the UN.
The quote from McGovern is, "... We've just GOT to STOP these OUTRAGEOUS assaults on the environment!!!!!!!" He referred, of course, to Republicans.
Interesting idea, Anselma. Here is the result:
I didnt put as much work into this one as I normally do to time constraints. The issue is dated, but I couldnt resist drawing a picture of George McGovern.

If you can rassle a Longhorn, you can rassle Ted Kennedy. It's only a little harder.

Wonderful George McGovern toon!!!!!!!!!!!
George looks pretty recognizable- and I like the Count Dracula added effects.
You got his hairline and face-shape very well! Also, you managed to somehow get an evil smile on the bird- an excellent look.
Thanks and also for crediting me for the "story line" or whatever one should call it.

Nice Senate stampede- break out the industrial-sized lasso for Teddy K.

Of course Clinton believed there were WMDs in Iraq while he was president, as did probably every Dem in the Senate.

It could have been a lot better if I had inked, shaded, blended, etc. like I do in most of my toons, but I just wanted to get it done and I had to put more work in my ordinary toons. Still, I'm more pleased with it than I thought I'd be.

Thanks for the ping, you put a lot of work in drawing W's shirt! Good 'toon.
I like the McGovern pix, also. You sure have him characterized correctly.
