WWE Hero Eddie Guerrero Dies (obit)
The London Sun ^ | Monday, November 14, 2005 | Simon Rothstein

Former WWE wrestling champion Eddie Guerrero died suddenly at the age of 38--after collapsing the morning before he was due to fight for the world title again.

Eddie was also set to perform in front of sellout crowds on a tour of Britain and Europe starting this week. The Latino star, real name Edwardo Guerrero, was found dead in his hotel room in Minneapolis.

He leaves a wife Vickie and three daughters, Shaul, 14, Sherilyn, 9, and Kaylie Marie, 3.

Eddie was in Minneapolis to take part in the main event of the WWE's Smackdown television show, where he was due to wrestle champion Batista and Randy Orton in a match for the world title.

With Batista recently suffering an injury, many expected Eddie to win the gold and add to an illustrious career that made him one of the best wrestlers of his generation.

The news was broken to distraught fans on the WWE website, which reported that everyone in the company was 'deeply saddened by the news.' A popular star, Eddie will be remembered for amazing matches with friends of his, including Chris Benoit, Rey Mysterio and Olympic Gold medialist Kurt Angle.

He was also starting his life over again with his family and the WWE after almost self destructing on drink and drugs in 2001. After finding religion and staying clean, Eddie enjoyed a remarkable run as a headline star in the WWE--holding the world championship belt after beating Brock Lesnar in February 2004.

Family and friends started to worry about the star after a 7am wakeup call was not answered. Security then opened the door and Eddie was found dead in the bathroom. He is reported to have died with his toothbrush in his mouth.

Cause of death is currently unknown, although it is believe to be of heart failure.

' he says he is a Vet.'

Actually, with a name like 'sarasmom' (sara's mom?), I think 'he' is a 'she'...

"Make no mistake that I am a war Vet, who was no REMF"

I don't. Not a rear-echelon mo-fo, eh?
Thanks for your service!

"I find the posting of any wrestler a joke next to men like Robert Howard. "

I respect your opinion, but why bother posting in a wrestling thread then?!

It is polite to ping a fellow poster if one mentions them.
:^)

My original post was in response to an IMNSHO ignorant poster, since deleted, claiming the demise of Eddie G. was not "worthy of a thread" since it was Veterans Day weekend.

I am indeed female, and a Veteran of the USAF.
REMF?
LOL!
Depends on which tour of duty assignment, although of my many, I don't remember any of them, or their nature having anything to do with the thread topic, or even being brought up at all, with the lone exception of...Lumper20s.
My two DD214s were honorably earned, and I have the Certificates in my closet.
Hey Lumper20, ask any former B52 crewmember from XXXXX AFB if the NCOIC of CIO, with the additional duty of XXAD/IN/NCOIC was a REMF poser.
(redacted for security reasons) I got called a lot of things both to my face and behind my back, but REMF was way at the bottom of the list of possible cutting insults!

And I remain very saddened to hear of the death of one of my favorite entertainers in the wrestling world. Prayers for his family and friends as they struggle through the loss of their loved one.

Eddie was a good Christian, and tonight on Raw there was evidence of his witness....some of the bashers know not of what they speak.

You're correct. Please accept both my apology and thanks for your service!

S'what roids do to you...

Or not. He died of Heart failure related to Heart Disease and an enlarged heart muscle. It's rather doubtful roids had anythign to do with it.

I have a feeling WWE will somehow wind up getting sued because of this.
