WWE Hero Eddie Guerrero Dies (obit)
The London Sun ^ | Monday, November 14, 2005 | Simon Rothstein

Posted on 11/13/2005 4:46:19 PM PST by gopwinsin04

Former WWE wrestling champion Eddie Guerrero died suddenly at the age of 38--after collapsing the morning before he was due to fight for the world title again.

Eddie was also set to perform in front of sellout crowds on a tour of Britain and Europe starting this week. The Latino star, real name Edwardo Guerrero, was found dead in his hotel room in Minneapolis.

He leaves a wife Vickie and three daughters, Shaul, 14, Sherilyn, 9, and Kaylie Marie, 3.

Eddie was in Minneapolis to take part in the main event of the WWE's Smackdown television show, where he was due to wrestle champion Batista and Randy Orton in a match for the world title.

With Batista recently suffering an injury, many expected Eddie to win the gold and add to an illustrious career that made him one of the best wrestlers of his generation.

The news was broken to distraught fans on the WWE website, which reported that everyone in the company was 'deeply saddened by the news.' A popular star, Eddie will be remembered for amazing matches with friends of his, including Chris Benoit, Rey Mysterio and Olympic Gold medialist Kurt Angle.

He was also starting his life over again with his family and the WWE after almost self destructing on drink and drugs in 2001. After finding religion and staying clean, Eddie enjoyed a remarkable run as a headline star in the WWE--holding the world championship belt after beating Brock Lesnar in February 2004.

Family and friends started to worry about the star after a 7am wakeup call was not answered. Security then opened the door and Eddie was found dead in the bathroom. He is reported to have died with his toothbrush in his mouth.

Cause of death is currently unknown, although it is believe to be of heart failure.

Just goes to show that you can only be slammed in the head with a folding chair so many times before it kills you.

Dude relax....there are close to 100 responses in the other thread, so obviously a few FReepers care about it. Step away from the computer and take a few deep breaths, it's gonna be alright.

Despite the negative responses you have received, I will agree. It is almost as though we are being DUed, by several postings that appear to be nothing more than the caricature of who FReepers are.

I love WWE, and I was starting to like Eddie. I am sad by his death, but I do wonder why it was posted on FR. BTW, the one WWE Latino I can't stand is Carlito. Spitting apple has got to be one step further on the lame scale, right after HHH's water spitting.

Besides, I won't be happy until Eugene gains the title.

You are one sad, sorry person. You let men far better then your own sad fanny do the fighting while you watch WWF. There is no hope for you period.

Sign up at moveon.org. They would like your anti Veteran's day BS.

When you think Veterans Day is nothing- you are the lowest form of life period.

I won't be happy until Eugene gains the title.

Are you kidding?

Or does the state of your happiness depend on a scripted WWE match?

I find happiness in God, my children and wife.

I meant I won't be happy about the state of WWE RAW.

I get my JOY from God and His Word. It gives me strength. and I prefer having eternal joy as opposed to happiness since happiness is determined by happenings. I am not always happy, but I am always joyous.

I don't watch WWF or WWE. Idiot mistake #1 by you.

"Sign up at moveon.org. They would like your anti Veteran's day BS. "

My statement was a statement of reality: That there was more happening in the world than just Veteran's Day. That's not anti-Vet, just fact. Idiot mistake #2 by you. Moveon.org sucks. Idiot mistake #3 by you.

"When you think Veterans Day is nothing- you are the lowest form of life period."

Which I never said nor implied. Idiot mistake #4 by you.

Trolling in a thread in which you have no interest makes you a loser troll and is Idiot mistake #5.

In short, you're an idiot.

I took my son to see a Smackdown show last weekend. The look on his face when the lights went down and Eddie's music hit was amazing. He hasn't been able to stop talkig about it since. Telling him about Eddies death was one of the hardest thngs I've had to do.

I read post number 16, and; he says he is a Vet.We have plenty of Vets, some from both war and some real fakes in the actor communty.

Make no mistake that I am a war Vet, who was no REMF. I do not need to tell those who never served in war what Omega and MACVSOG are.

If you did not post the WWF, then I apologize to you. I find the posting of any wrestler a joke next to men like Robert Howard.
