Posted on 11/12/2005 7:10:58 AM PST by skimask

OK fellow FReepers, today the LSU Tigers will play the Crimson Tide at 'Bama. What do yall think will be the outcome of these two Top 10 teams will be? Will we have another undefeated team shut out of the BCS game like last year?

Nope. LSU will expose the Tide for the one trick pony that they are. There defense wont save them this time.

I hope the Tigers pound the Tide like Canadians pound baby seals. We don't need a repeat of three undefeated teams at the end of the year.

I think Alabama wins this one and drops the Auburn game next week.

I'm also praying two out of the following three lose at some point this season: Texas, USC, Miami.

I'm a big Cane fan stuck here in USC land, so I'm hoping the Canes can play off the thrashing they gave the Hokies and somehow sneak into the BCS game...but thats a long shot.

Not to hard to do if ALa, and Texas or Texas and USC or USC and Ala. lose. Texas has the easiest rode, but SC and Ala both have a tough schedule left.

Go Dawgs!
Wish I had been able to listen, Larry would have been going wild at the finish!

Game Story
AUBURN, Alabama (Ticker) -- A career day for Michael Johnson
ended in storybook fashion.

Johnson caught a 19-yard touchdown pass on fourth down with 1:25
remaining as seventh-ranked Georgia clinched the Southeastern
Conference East Division title with a dramatic 24-21 victory
over Auburn.

The junior wide receiver had 13 receptions for 141 yards but
none was bigger than his last one. He wrestled the ball away
from cornerback Horace Willis and made a leaping grab in the
left corner of the end zone.

"I am just glad I had the opportunity to get in the ballgame,"
Johnson said. "My team had faith in me and I came out with the
ball on the last play."

"I was going to Michael the whole time," quarterback David
Greene said. "I pump-faked because there was an Auburn player in
my face, and I threw it up. Michael just went up and got it."

Had Auburn held on for the win, Florida would have had a chance
to win capture the SEC East with a win over South Carolina on
Saturday night.

Georgia (10-1, 7-1), which rallied from a 21-10 deficit in the
second half, will have an opportunity to claim its first SEC
title since 1982 when it plays in the conference championship
game in Atlanta on December 7.

Record aside, Alabama does not impress like UT or USC. They still have to play LUS, Auburn, and the SEC Champ game, which will give 1, 2 or possibly 3 losses. If TCU had beaten a lowly SMU team (they should have, it is a mini Ala-Aub, USC-UCLA, UT-OU, etc. game) they would be 10-0 but few would put them in the UT, USC, Ala. catagory. Texas Tech gets little attention because most don't even know where they are from. Records are a hint, but not something to hang your hat on. I think LSU wins easily 23-10.

I'd give Miami a 1 in 3 shot of making the Rose Bowl. USC still has three challenging games ahead of it, and Texas might always drop the Big12 Championship game to Colorado. As a Penn State fan, it's Miami that I just don't see losing. That defense is suffocating. And the only (semi) legitimate opponent is FSU - and the Seminoles are overrated even at their current ranking.

I too think LSU will beat Bama. The Crimson Tide hasn't impressed me. The Horned Frogs are not unknown by me. They always have a solid program and field a competitive team every Saturday capabale of beating anyone.

I hope the Canes get another shot at FSU to make up for that 10/7 loss to the Seminoles in the driving rain.

I always go with the Rush Limbaugh politically correct game predictions. Tigers are pretty endangered so they have to win. They are more important to the world than harmful red tide algal blooms.

Go Tigers!

I think Texas is a mortal lock for the Rose Bowl. And USC has about a 95% chance of being there. UCLA was exposed as a paper tiger, Fresno State is a great WAC team, but they don't match up to USC personnel, and Cal is good but not great.

A Penn State/Miami game would be fun.
