Time to eat crow (literally)
Aftenposten (Norway) ^ | November 12, 2005

A restaurant in Østre Bolærne, an archipelago on the outer fringe of the Oslo Fjord, has decided on menu innovation to attract new diners.

Manager Rolf Bjarne Sund is not sure if the new additions of crow and seagull to the menu will be a definite hit with visitors, but hopes they will give the rare items a try, newspaper Tønsberg Blad reports.

"It has something to do with the feeling that this (crow) is not a clean bird," Sund admitted. "But it is incredibly good. It tastes like chicken with a hint of game. And it is safe to eat," Sund told the newspaper.

The restaurant has already advertised their 'Christmas buffet with a difference', and the chef has prepared both crow and seagull in a variety of sauces. Sund checked long ago that it was legal to hunt the common birds.

Sund has other plans as well, and needs to double visitors to the island in order to have enough overnight stays and tourist income. Trout fishing, a skating rink and a mountaineering wall are a few of the coming attractions.

Unless you are on day 17+ in a life raft lost at sea...there's nobody in their right mind who would eat a filthy seagull! I don't care how you prepare one...seagull are filthy gut-eating vomit spewing vermin.

And they explode real nice if you throw them Alka-Seltzers.

(not that I would personally know this...only heard rumors...heh heh heh)

The old rule is to never eat the meat of a scavenger.

Start this stuff, and we will be reading about Mad Crow and Sea Gull diseases.

Crow is a staple of the MSM diet. Thae apparently love it at the NY Times where it is served almost every day.

It made Mary Mapes sick however and she has vowed never to eat crow. Genene Giraffelo was served some on a silver platter by the great folks in the DC Free Republic Chapter.

Poor ol Dan Rather was given the opportunity to taste crow but retired instead.

A Lobstermen's Association attorney will contact you shortly. Meanwhile, the Maine economy (make that the "so-called economy,") has already taken a severe nosedive because of your incredibly insensitive remarks about the Lobster's place in the food chain.

Yes Grampa, many a Maine home will just have to do without Christmas this year. And it's going to be all your fault. Or George Bush's.

You had better eat crow, before this turns into a real Depression.

"A good rule invented by God..."

Yes. Apparently many of our Indian Tribes in America had the same rule passed on to them by their Great Spirit.

Okay lets modify that a little.

Don't eat the meat of any scavenger with wings, holves, or paws.

I will have the Crabbers on the West Coast after me as well as the Lobstermen.
