VANITY - The WalMart story is not even close to accurate **Personal experience as of 12:00 PM EST
My personal experience today | today | Me

Posted on 11/11/2005 9:57:18 AM PST by MikefromOhio

Please excuse this vanity, but since this story has such legs I decided to not only get my .02 in, but to clear up some definite inaccuracies that were perpetuated on FR yesterday.

To be short and brief, I needed some black trash bags for my yardwork and went to the old WalMart which is soon to be replaced in Springfield, OH. Since I was there, and since I had commented on the threads yesterday, I decided to go around and see for myself if Christmas had been removed from Wal Mart.

Guess what? I was about 5 steps into the story when I saw a stand that said (and I quote) "45 Shopping Days left until Christmas."

Then as I was making my way back to where I could get the trash bags, I walked right by the card stand and displayed VERY prominently were the CHRISTMAS CARDS and the ENTIRE section of greetings cards, to include THANKSGIVING.

And let's not even mention the ENTIRE AISLE dedicated to Christmas candy....and it does have CHRISTMAS prominently displayed....

Well, considering he expects me to help paint the windows, it is the least he can do for me :)

yeah...

you know, it's kinda hilarious that the other thread is talking about a "victory". There was nothing won.

Most everyone DIDN'T see anything to boycott, me included.

It was a self-important man making a point that didn't have any basis in reality.

Local Wal Mart by me is going through a massive remodel.
Almost everything is up, and they are gearing up for the Christmas shopping crush.
The remodel has been making it hard to get inventory out on the floor though.
Oh, and they had to do an inventory count while half the store was disassembled..
*snort*

But they do have Christmas stuff out.

Exactly my position.

Hubby reports pretty much the same as you, except he was wished a pleasant Veteran's Day.

Well he's back with the paint, and so I'm out of here to start swinging a brush. will check back later.

Yes.

Good luck with the painting.
And remember, more paint on the walls than on hubby.

Give me a break.

All I did was ask a question. If it's too much to respond, then don't. Give me a break.

LOL!!!!!!

If anybody would have gotten paint on them it would have been me, he was on the ladder painting the top of the window.

We didn't get much accomplished - and he is now on his way BACK to WalMart..........who knows what the heck we ever did with the large pack of interior and exterior brshes we bought a while back. so tomorrow I will be painting while he continues with the siding :)

LOL!!!

I've been known to spend more time in the paint and wallpaper aisles of WalMart and Lowe's than in the Garden Center :)

I've been spotted in several places: electronics, sporting goods, near the stuff for roses in garden supplies, and near the chainsaws..
Hmm..

ROFL!!!!!!!!

You'll definitely find me in sporting goods come spring.....I always replenish hubby's tackle box (and mine) for his birthday, which is in March, just in time for fishing season!!!

I don't go fishing.
I catch either a cold, a long, a boot, a cast off drag weight, or have snapping turtles play with the hook.
*sigh*
