I have a pizza suggestion. This is not "fast" but it is cheap and good. It is more of a meal to put together curing tv commercials.
Just get a box of Chef BoyArDee pizza kit. I get the cheese because it is the only version my handiest store sells. It is around $3 for a kit that makes two pretty large pizzas.
Of course you can add any goodies you have but if you don't it is still good just with what is in the kit. How can you go wrong with hot bread, sauce, and parmesan cheese?
It is important to oil the baking pan very well or it will stick and be ruined. Also, make the crust dough, cover it in the bowl, and let it sit for at least a half hour. This makes it MUCH easier to spread out. If you do it too early it fights against you. I usually set the bowl on the stove top and turn on the oven to preheat so the oven and dough are ready together.

Generally I am not one for "appliances". A different appliance for every application but one thing I love is a toasted sandwich maker.
It's quick and easy and certainly cheap. You just slap a piece of bread on there, some cheese and lunch meat and close it. It sorta smashes the bread and cuts it in half. In about a minute you have a grilled sandwich, no mess. Now that's my kind of cooking!
