I certainly agree with you, that if the academy made things too easy on him until it was too late he should not be held responsible. however, the bike test is, from what i have been told, just as hard if not harder than the actual run test. the run test standard is 2 miles in 16:37, as stated in the article. for the bike test you must be able to bike 10 kilometers in a specified period of time. don't quote me on this, but i believe the time standard for that is 18 minutes. i have never taken the bike test, but i understand it is actually quite difficult. again, that is anecdotal evidence, so take it for what you will.
