Don't mention the little one at the shower. Even if the cousin is thrilled, there will be catty remarks and stories behind your wife's back for years to come.

Similar thing just happened in our family. Older sister getting married. Younger got engaged right before the wedding. Younger refused to tell anyone or wear her ring until after older's wedding. Then older PLANNED a pregnancy so she'd be 7 months pregnant on younger's wedding day (no reason for planning). No one said anything to older, but boy were the catty comments flying behind her back!
