Rolls Royce, Dude!

Don't you know your Hurricane Trivia?

You need to come to Reno next year and learn your WW2 Aviation History.

I heard yesterday that the guy who owns the Bf109 that has been hitting the Air Show circuit lately wants to RACE IT!

LOL!!!

The Me 109 should do fairly well at Pylons, Dashing.

Or in a dive.

The Andrews AFB Open House/Air Show always features some great old WWII warbirds. Navy Avengers, a Corsair, A-6 Texans, P-51Ds. Even an old B-17 and B-25.

Still think the Spitfire, Mustang and Hurricane were the most beautifylly designed planes of WWII.

Jack.

Hey, I think that's the ME-109 I did some work on.

It was a Spanish 109 with a Merlin engine that someone had ground looped at Reno. We fixed the gear and rebuilt the skin under the engine and the cowling to look a wee bit more like the German version. A friend who had worked for Scaled Composites did a custom composite skin and I built the oil cooler air ducts and mounts. We put covers over the exhaust kinda like the German version, and cut down a DC-3 three blade propeller to replace the original Merlin four blade version.

It was a Hollywood ME-109 for sure.
