LMAO! Ok, good idea.
Criticism of Wilson
Wilson was criticized recently for allegedly talking about his wife's CIA job prior to the column by Novak. Retired Army Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely claimed on the John Batchelor radio show that Wilson had spoken to him about his wife's role with the CIA while they were waiting together in the green room before appearing together on FOX News. He said this occurred on three to five occasions, first in February or March of 2002. Vallely also said Wilson was proud to routinely introduce his wife as a CIA employee at cocktail parties per a tabloid source.[11]
Wilson has since demanded that Vallely retract these allegations, calling them "patently false." Wilson wrote to his attorney in an email included in his demand for a retraction: "This is slanderous. I never appeared on TV before at least July 2002 and only saw him maybe twice in the green room at FOX. Vallely is a retired general and this is a bald faced lie.... I never laid eyes on [Vallely] till several months after he alleges I spoke to him about my wife."[12]
In addition, on November 7, 2005 Lt. General Tom McInerney (USAF Retired) confirms that Joe Wilson also bragged to him about his wife's job with the CIA while waiting in the green room at FOX News. [13]
bump!
Thanks for the ping. I didn't listen to the show, but this thread kept me informed.
Thanks for the ping to this show..I couldn't listen- but I caught up reading the thread this morning...this is shaping up to be an interesting showdown:)
See you later this morning:)
Thanks for the ping! Listened last night to the first hour then fell asleep (with head phones on...geesh!) John really sounded angry! Glad to see that the Generals are getting the truth out!
That was my favorite line too!
It was so great to hear that pompous windbag Loftus punctured. Not only was he skewered, but he actually backed down on some of his previous assertions.
Loftus is a friend of Joe Wilson's, big time, and has been indignantly promoting Wilson's claims ("my wife's career was ruined, CIA assets put in danger etc. etc.") on the Batchelor show for the last year.
Batchelor usually lets Loftus get away with making the most outrageous claims that later prove utterly wrong!
(Just one example, Loftus assured Batchelor numerous times that his "sources" in the spook community knew that Saddam Hussein was dead -- killed in the first airstrikes.)
Then recently, during that overheated week just before the Libby indictment, Loftus insisted he had inside info that VP Cheney would be imminently FORCED to RESIGN over the Plame affair.
But then, when only one indictment came down, and no indication that anybody had outed a covert agent, Batchelor finally had had it with Loftus and smacked him down pretty good.
Does everybody know that Paul Vallely lost his son in this war ..?? He wasn't killed in combat, but was killed while training with a special ops program.
Their only child!
Thanks for the ping....I was logged off and just got in this morning. Thanks for thinking of me and please keep me on your ping lists!
"Why was Wilson sent to Niger?"
The talk is .. Wilson was sent to Niger in 1999 (also by his wife in the CIA) .. and may be involved in laundering money for the uranium at Al Tuwaithe .. which was uncovered in the oil for food investigation.
I guess if that's true, it would explain why Wilson was sent on the 2nd trip, and why he didn't do anything when he was there because he already knew what was going on - and he wasn't going to tell the Bush admin.
Is Vallely the one that lost a son?
Yes...he lost a son in a training accident in Montana, I think...he was training for special ops or something...
Paul has set up some kind of fund to help troops in his son's name... I can't remember the name right now.
