I love that movie. I ESPECIALLY like the parts with the gas station, and the old plane, and the hardware store.

Tax dollars. Citizens must not be forced to pay for this.

One of my favorite lines:

Buddy Hackett (to Etherl Merman): "Except you, lady. May you just....DROP DEAD!!!!"
Jonathan Winters (in a very business like manner): "Alright. Alright. Now we all agree on that."

double take by Ethel Merman

That's a good movie. However, it says a lot about the lack of need for PBS that they are now airing films that could be, and have been, shown on network TV

They've been doing that for as long as I can remember.

Great old movie! :)

The scene where Jonathan Winters catches-up with Phil Silvers at the gas station (After PS tell him earlier to throw the bike "Out of the way so somebody doesn't trip over it in the dark") and tells HIM...."When I'm done, they'll be tripping over YOU in the dark!!!" LOL!

It's even BETTER when you can see it on a big screen. I saw this movie at a theater a couple years ago around Thanksgiving.

The stunts really play out better on a big screen. I also tried counting the number of comedians I recognized (whether they were "added" to the cast in the chase or just cameos). I think I got over 33. Also tried to count the number of actors from that film who are still alive.

Sid Caesar, Johnathan Winters, Mickey Rooney, Stan Freberg, Peter Falk, Don Knotts, Carl Reiner, and Edie Adams are among the surviving cast members. Sid Caesar and Johnathan Winters reunited in "Comic Book: The Movie" (2004).
