This one was actually trying to get people to sign up for e-mail alerts when the drudge report updated.

For the same reason that important stuff from blogs has to be posted in the blogs and personal section, where nobody reads them.
I know we're not a blog, but I think we (FR) could afford the blogs a little more respect.
