Me... I haven't read any. So, I'm looking for suggestions.

Cocur with "Prophet of Doom". It is a long and depressing read but worth the time.

Secrets of the Koran by Don Richardson. I picked it up when the author spoke at our church a few months ago. I'd say this one is a must read. Got into a long discussion with the author over one simple sentence that he made during his presentation that has bothered me ever since - 'Islam is totally incompatible with democracy.....'.

"What Went Wrong" by Bernard Lewis. Anything he writes is pretty solid.

"Islam: A Way of Life"
I don't remember the author's name, but the book was one of my texts in a World Religions Class.

I admit I haven't read it, but the fact that it had the heads of the Iranian Mad Mullahs stuck in their collective underwear made me think the book must've been good.

While we're at it, how about some suggestions (other than the "Politically Incorrect" series) on The Crusades?

Read the fricking Koran. That pile of garbage will tell you exactly why these people are nuts.

I second that choice - just finished it - excellent book.

The "Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam", by Robert Spencer.
Easy to reference, well thought, comparisons with other major world religious beliefs.
If you read nothing else, read this one.

Karen Armstrong "Islam, a short history" is a good intro to the history of Islam.
I also agree that you should read the Koran to really grasp where Muslims are coming from. It is eye-opening.
