Thems mean ones, first saw one in Eastern Massachusetts about 8 years ago. It passed in front of my car about 5am and gave me a nasty look. I never saw nor heard of one before that and had to go through my kids "flash cards" to find one.
NASTY! The got to be Democrats!

PETA probably protects them so that they can "live" in the wild. PETA also protests against cat coats.
PETA doesn't care about weasels eating cats though. That's "nature".

The Fisher is a cat-sized mammal closely related to the Marten (M. americana). Male Fishers may weigh as much as seven kilograms, but females weigh much less.
The fur of the Fisher, particularly the female, is soft and glossy, dark brown with some silvery tipping of the hairs. Fishers and Martens both have curved claws, and they are excellent climbers.

A) A fisher isn't a cat, it's the largest of the mink family
B) A fishers favorite food is domestic house cat.
c) The population of fishers has exploded here in upstate NY also because no one is trapping them any more.
