I'll keep you posted. On Friday there was an article on FR about horse therapy. To be honest, my daughter's main motivation is to get as close to horses as she can. That it is doing a good deed too is, unfortunately, secondary.
The good thing about volunteering like this, is that your daughter may be starting out with other motives, but my guess is she'll get so much emotional benefit out of the joy of helping those less fortunate than she is, that her own enjoyment will be secondary.

Oldest GD spent several years in this type of program, with the same motivation. She became quite attached to some of the children who were really thrilled to get on a horse and were obviously helped. This was, in my mind, a wonderful plus to enlarge her world.
