By the way, Fox News is reporting that the White House has announced that there will be no SCOTUS pick announcement tonight.

It seems silly to skip tomorrow because of Halloween, but does anyone doubt that the Barbara Boxers of the world would shamelessly step before a mike and proclaim something along the line "this is the worst Halloween trick the President could have played on the American people"?

If I were in charge, I'd have the name put out in the press tomorrow by "sources high up in the WH" and have the official announcement on Tuesday. That gets the base charged up, the story to cover more time and deflect the Libby deal, as well as avoid the jokes about being a Halwoeen pick.

But that's just me.

Maybe, but if the pick is a good one it seems fitting to give the Dems their "fright" on Halloween. :-)
