My book is still a work in progress. Big sci-fi epic.
been a crazy week, just getting in and put Eric down...anything interesting going on here?
Not much. Got out a little more but little progress. Glad to see you back :)
It is about a situation where anti-nuclear terrorists, take over a space-defense system, in the testing stages, and turn it into a doomsday weapon, to force nuclear disarmanent, of the superpowers. Things go bad for the terrorists, and a Supercomputer, called "omni-one" takes over, and begins a countdown to a detonation of a superbomb weapon, which will pretty much vaporize all of North and South America, and cause nuclear winter, for the remainder of the planet. It is then a race, to try to stop the computer from accomplishing this, but the computer seems invulnerable, and can read minds, predict actions, and is protected by an impregnable shield. All attempt to get through this shield to disarm the doomsday bomb fail, and nuclear Holocaust appears inevitable.
Keep up the hard work!
Sounds like a great script!
Okay... I have to say something...
Twice now on this thread individuals have been told by others that I was offended by something that was said to me. Both times, I did not mention to anyone that I happened to be offended by what was said, because it didn't offend me. However, the dialogue between the other FReepers caused misunderstanding. I appreciate the fact that others are trying to protect me. However, I am an adult, and I can take care of myself. If I am offended by a comment on this thread, I will make it known to the poster. And if I need assistance in defending myself, I will ask for it. Besides, I can click on the abuse button if needed.
I hope this doesn't offend anyone. But I think it needed to be said.
I'll have you know that the PTC is simply aghast.
Good thing Steve Allen isn't around.
He'd be in high dudgeon.
:^)
I'm here. :-) Hi Theresa.
Hi GJP. :-)
hi tulip
:)
Isn't it a bit late?
Well, you know what they say.
Yeah, I should be going to bed soon. I didn't get a chance to eat dinner until less than an hour ago, so it's been a late evening.
See ya tomorrow.
;)
Good night. :-)
I'm going to go to bed. Good night. :-)
Good night!
Cool! That sounds awesome! Mine is a large-scale space epic that centers around a squad of Marines fighting against the enemy (an enemy that is an odd mix of an Oligarchy, Communism and fanatacisim) and traitors within their own government. It opens with a breif history of the Colonial Federation and its war of independance that established it as a state 102 years before the story (the enemy was batterd, killed almost to the last man, with the few survivors fleeing into the depths of space). It then opens up with an attack against all five of the core systems by a terrorism movement backed by this enemy which had just resurfaced: A nano-virus that kills 60 million people in days, with nuclear terrorist attacks taking out factories and industrial targets (an attempt to reduce the weapons, ammunition and logistics capacity of the Colonial Federation Navy and Marine Corps). The war emergancy is declared and 2nd Squad is deployed along with 2.7 million other soldiers and 400 warships. The story takes place over the course of the entire war (months). The plot goes deeper than that. There are tons of plot twists. An archeological dig on a planet called Sheol finds somthing. It is millions of years old but more techologically advanced than we humans could ever dream of. Built by a long-extinct alien race. The way it effects space-time makes it interesting to the enemies, foreign and domestic.
It does not offend me. Thanks for making it clear though :)
Welome :)
