Handy for some people with mixed environments. Shows any desktop on any platform with screen only fast protocol.
Used VNC (IIRC) years ago to work from home. I was using it on my windows box to see my X desktop at work.
If you don't mind the security hole, also useful as a console for headless boxes.

Phato, run vnc with the localhost option and pipe it over ssh.. I always block the port rand 5800-6100 on my servers... It can be done with windows but why bother when you can use netmeeting or terminal services..
