Pink's is much better than Tail o' the Pup.
Yeah, I guess I will keep him...LOL...He does love his beer...
Java Jive: Come for the beer, 'cause the coffee s-cks!
The Swiss is on the back side of UW Tacoma up the hill from the Harmon and a block south. They get some good bands too...but the crowds are what I can't deal with...when I'm not working that is.
And this is pretty impressive.
Christ of the Ozarks (it's seven stories tall)
Every inch of the remarkable sculpture was built by hand. No poured segments were used in the statue's construction.
At an altitude of 1500 feet, the statue is made of 24 layers of white mortar on a steel frame and weighs over two million pounds.
Those are the motel rooms! Each room is an individual wigwam and is round. Saw it on a PBS show by our local documentarian. The Duck was on there too.
SD
Those wigwam hotels are still there. Have a friend who travels around, stays in em every year just for the fun of it.
Friends and I all went to a concert at Jones recently and it was funny how we all grew up on Lawngg Guyland and all called it something different.
I always called it the PENCIL, a few more more graphic, others called it the water tower.....
Don't know. Think she is a blog mistress.
I was there about 2 months ago. There is something strangely thrilling about it.
I think that was a recent pic taken by a guy who drove 66 in an old car and took black and white photos.
The Wigwam Motel is still there and accepting reservations...

Well, I was off a little bit, but it does appear the Swiss is in the general area of the Harmon, so I do think where we were was the Swiss...because of your mention of the crowds...I do remember, whenever we are there, it is just jammed...
FIBers might know this too.
My parents bought a vacation house in Shell Knob, Mo in 1982. We spent A LOT of time in Arkansas, since it was just a skip across the border.
I loved Eureka springs. They had two shops that I always went into. One was a miniature shop. They had tiny everythings. The other was an old fashioned candy shop, with a taffy puller in the front window. They made fresh chocolate covered strawberries every day, as well as white chocolate lumps full of fresh blueberries. Lord, that is some good candy.
Arkansas is really pretty. My sister still lives in Shell Knob. Is Big Cedar lodge in Mo or Ark? Can't remember, cause we always go by boat. Beautiful place.
Got it. I'll try to remember that this time!
Just any place with cheese. Give me cheese and I'm a happy gal!
I'm not kidding either :)
So does the beer. they used to have live monkeys, but they all died. :(
