No mention of Napoleon Dynamite. I think this poll is rigged! :)
Like anyone could even know that!

NO way. It doesn't come close to the Godfather I or II.

The best mob movie of all time, that's for sure.

No question about it, Godfathers I and II, by far the best movies ever made.

The best mob movie of all time, that's for sure.Terrific acting, that's for sure, but I think the first two Godfather flicks taken as a whole should get that honor.

I had been thinking about making making pasta lately and now the memories of Goodfellas triggered by this article seals the deal. *Goes off to peel garlic...

The Godfather movies are great, no question -- although II is better than I in my opinion.
But Goodfellas hits harder because it is grittier, and doesn't romanticize the gangsters the way that GF films do.
Goodfellas shows what lowlives they are, whereas the GF makes them seem almost noble.
I find Goodfellas to be one of those movies that I always watch whenever I am channel surfing and run across it. I almost never watch the GF movies.

Never really worked for me. Maybe because I was expecting too much when I saw it and no film could live up to it's hype. I'm not sure how I'd vote for the best film of all time. Maybe Casablanca.
Here's my Casablanca story. I saw it for the first time at college during a 40's film festival. During the first scene where Bogart is shown all the women in the theater gasped. It was an amazing, spontaneous moment. I had no idea until then how much raw sex appeal Bogart had.

Tommy DeVito (Joe Pesci): Oh, oh, Anthony. He's a big boy, he knows what he said. What did you say? Funny how?
Henry Hill (Ray Liotta): It's...
Tommy DeVito: What?
Henry Hill: Just... ya know, you're, you're funny.
Tommy DeVito: What do ya mean, funny? Let me understand this cause, I don't know maybe it's me, I'm a little f*cked up maybe, but I'm funny how? I mean, funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh... I'm here to f*ckin' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?
Henry Hill: You know, how you tell a story, what?
Tommy DeVito: No, no, I don't know... you said it. How do I know? You said I'm funny. How the f*ck am I funny, what the f*ck is so funny about me? Tell me. Tell me what's funny!
Henry Hill: Get the f*ck outta here, Tommy!
Tommy DeVito: Ya motherf*cker, I almost had him, I almost had him! Ya stutterin' pr*ck ya! Frankie, was he shakin'?

Agreed. I can watch the Godfather 1 & 2 over and over and over, even though I have already seen it a million times. I will watch re-runs over new programming like 99% of the time.
