I bring in a 5" black and white portable TV and watch during breaks. Otherwise I listen on the radio. The ESPN Radio stations in Boston aren't powerful so I have to try someone else like WBAL (AM 1090) out of Baltimore...and my work area doesn't have the best reception so I use a mini-boombox or AM-FM-CD player tuned to 1090--then I put a mini-FM transmitter and broadcast on a certain frequency. Result: clear reception (with some "fade out" on occasion) via a Walkman.
I am intentionally taking Thu. night off from work so I can catch game 5, and games 6 and 7 will also be on nights off.
Here's what the mini FM transmitter looks like ($20 at WalMart). People use it to play their Ipods in the car.
My mom lives in an assisted living facility. It's a nice place, but she can't get any of her favorite AM stations (local stations out of Hartford, CT) in the building without a lot of static. When we put the radio near the window, it comes in best, but with still too much static. Would a transmitter like this help? I'm a little confused how an FM transmitter helps with transmission of AM stations...
