Sorry if this is anywhere else--search is my friend but I could turn up nothing. Chicago and LA/Anaheim are tied 3-3 with 2 out in the 7th as I type this. Go-ahead run at 2nd. Can Chicago win their first pennant since 1959?
Chicago said to have better starting pitching (3 CGs in a row), Anaheim a good bullpen. They're dead even in the bottom of the 7th.
Meanwhile Cards have backs to wall and Astros have chance to win pennant at home tomorrow night.
I think Chicago has it in the bag. I mean you have a Chicago tema up 3 games to 1 in an LCS and even it it goes to games 6 & 7 those are at home. There is no possible way Chicago could lose. BTW, I have a ticket to game 6 right along the left field line but I gave them to a guy named Steve. LOL!
anyone out there? see that last call...Escobar pretended to tag the runner (Piercynski) with his glove but the ball was in his bare OTHER hand. He then tried to throw to first but the runner was safe there. Call reversed...Angels fans wondering just what is it with umpires' calls when Piercynski is up there!
K-rod coming in to face Crede with 2 on, 2 out.
Steve Bartman!!
CWS takes lead--Crede again...
Bases loaded for Chicago. Could we see the first pennant for a Chicago team since the Eisenhower administration?
CWS--no pennant since '59, no WS title since '17
Cubs--no pennant since '45, no WS title since '08

Tell me about it! I was only six year old when the Sox were in the Series in '59. That's been it FOR MY WHOLE LIFE!
GO SOX!!!
Am a Red Sox fan who is cheering for Chi. despite the White Sox beating us in the first round (and despite the fact that the Yanks got beat by Angels). I'm not just a Red Sox fan,
I'm a baseball fan. When my team is out of the playoffs
I cheer for other teams (but not the Yanks).
And I've been to what was then New Comiskey park (now
named after a cell phone company) a couple times (sat in
upper decks) as well as Wrigley.
And would be fun to see teams like the White Sox, who haven't been to the big dance since '59, and the Astros,
who have never been (Geo. & Barbara Bush are fans)
to get a chance.
What could have been, had it not been for Grady Little and Steve Bartman (well, maybe not just HIS fault...):
2003 WORLD SERIES
CHICAGO CUBS vs. BOSTON RED SOX
...I know it's early to say this, as Angels still can come back, but will Fox do cut ins to taverns in Chicago celebrating if White Sox win? I guess they frown on it these days...after showing shots of bars in Boston area during last year's playoffs, and a big crowd gathered in Kenmore Sq.
area, there was crowds and violence--and a young woman
accidentally killed by Boston police pepper guns...
It could be Astros vs. White Sox. Was said on Fox yesterday that Roger Clemens mother said the following words three times on the day she died: SHOELESS JOE JACKSON (I know, I know,
that's what she supposedly said). Hmmm...She had accurately predicted score of Astros game pitched by Roger just after she died.
WooHoo! 2 run CHW lead!
Now a 2 run CWS lead...can Angels stop this and make a 9th inning comeback? Otherwise it's safe to say they're wheeling the champagne into the Chi. clubhouse (then again, they did the same thing to the Red Sox clubhouse during the final
moments of '86 World Series game 6...)_
I have a friend who grew up in Chicago and now lives in Pico Rivera, CA, not far from Anaheim. Always seemed like more of a Cubs than White Sox fan, and these days I think he's cheering for Angels. This could be the first time in his lifetime a Chicago baseball team has won a pennant.
When was he born? Oct 10, 1959...probably a few weeks
after CWS lost '59 WS to Dodgers.
One of my all time favorite songs. Three outs to go, let's get some more runs and save some anxiety here in Chicago.
Chicago vs Houston
6-3 going to bottom of the 9th
They say it never rains in Southern California
Seems I've always heard that kind of talk before
It never rains in California, but girl don't they warn ya
It pours, man it pours

Come on baby don't you want to go
Come on baby don't you want to go
Back to that same old place, sweet home Chicago
If it's an Astros-CWS world series, CWS have advantage.
AL won all-star game (this yr it counts). Or Angels
would, if there's a miracle comeback a la Red Sox last yr.
(home advantage, I mean)
