I'm Back (Vanity)

Sorry for the vanity; I tried to send a FReepmail to everyone on my ping lists, but it wouldn't accept multiple names.
Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know that after not posting for several weeks, I'm now back to posting. It's been an "interesting" end of the summer. In August, I was placed on the list for a kidney transplant (not at all unexpected; I've know for several years that I have Polycystic Kidney Disease), and had surgery at the end of August to place an access for dialysis (I'm not on dialysis yet; my kidney function is holding at ~16%). At the end of September, I had emergency brain surgery for a collection of blood between my skull and brain (subdural hematoma). THAT was totally unexpected, but I'm doing well now, and will be going back to work next week. If you sent me a "ping" to send to one of the ping lists that I have, and I didn't send it out to the list, please accept my apologies. I'm just now getting back to my normal routine.

After reading this, I feel small complaining about anything. I hope everything starts looking up for you. You seem to have the right spirit and that probably helps. It's great that you're able to go back to work (if that's what you want to do.)

I am so happy to hear from you again, BC! I was just about to FReepmail you to see how you are doing. It's so nice to once again see the smiling face that accompanys your "Dittohead" pings. May God bless you and keep you in good health. :o)

Welcome back. I missed you. A subdural hematoma is worse than any dialysis related problems. Poor dear, you've really been through it, haven't you? Here's to us getting our kidneys soon. Keep the faith, though. G-d's timing is best.

When I was 8 years old I was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease and they said I'd need a transplant by the time I was 13. I was lucky and it was a bad diagnosis. As an adult, I've researched quite a bit on this disease and I've learned to thank God every day that it was a misdiagnosis. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
Stay strong, BC. There's a bunch of us who've been reading your posts for years and we're silently behind you. Keep FReepin'.
