Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Her last thought was "Is ~this~ lembas?""...she died, not knowing that lembas should contain cornmeal."

...and then the most inexplicable thing happened... nothing... at all. Nothing happened for what had to be the fourth time that day. A pattern is clearly developing here, she thought.

I dunno, Ramius.
I tend to lean more towards OT's flair for the dramatic. *grin*

I was simply relating real-life situations. :-)

Christian Bale, Sean Bean Can't go wrong there, either! Haven't seen it yet, will keep an eye out. We just TiVo'd "Osama" (which I won't inflict on Big'ol), we're watching Burns' Civil War on PBS.

I got a mention in a John Ringo book as a lieutenant once. He had a sign up on the Baen forums for 'red shirt' character names. About two years after I signed up sure enough I was there. Did not get killed though...

Too true!
But the point of reading a novel is to escape real-life, isn't it? *wink*
Had a bit of rain today from Wilma's tail. I'll prolly be working on Monday, since they aren't expecting her to get here until Monday night. :P

Welcome home from work, btw!

Did not get killed though... Bummer. I'd be looking for a turrubly interesting cause of death.
Watching Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid on TCM.

I consumed a half a pound of fried liver and onions for supper then polished off two caramel apples.
I feel sick.

Arrggh. I just got a really infuriating email. I'm concerned that I've violated my two-beer rule and already replied.
Must calm down.

Heh heh! Yep. I have a problem with anemia and really notice a boost in my energy if I eat it now and then...plus I really love it.
I have no excuse for the caramel apples. They are just too good.
