Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I've got the girls watching The Santa Clause 2.
The TV in the living room is off for now. I'm enjoying the relative quiet.
Just had an interesting phone call that I'm thinking about.

Bourbon, egg nog and cheese popcorn.
Sounds like a good way to dull the edge off of a lousy week. ;-)

I'm also hoping for a great, big nothing.
Next week is by far one of the busiest of the year at my job. Packing in 6 days worth of payrolls into 3. Yikes.
I can bet that the other regions are hoping that Gamma fizzles out too, or else they're gonna get stuck doing our payrolls on top of theirs. :-/
Thanks for mentioning the gas, I'll do that first thing in the morning.

I don't know. There's the university, of course...it's actually where Steve is graduating from except he goes to a branch here in Tulsa.
Then there's Eskimo Joe's...that's a local trendy "college town" eatery. Steve and I went there once when we were just thinking of moving to OK and they just walked up to us and said "Cheese Fries?" So we figured cheese fries were a given and that's what we got. So I imagine we'll eat lunch there.
I just remember Stillwater being really really flat. Prairie, you know...

I'd say it's a bit heavier than "sprinkles."
*Sigh* Running low on bourbon.

LSA had an interesting experience this morning. She was walking Gypsygirl and almost home, near the old mill, when a car slowed down, followed LSA for a bit, waved LSA down, and pulled into the loading area at the old mill. A woman bounced out exclaiming "where did you get that dog? Do you know what kind of dog that is" LSA, keeping her thumb on the can of halt, replied yes-she's a very good dog. :-)
Seems that Gypsygirl is a Scotch Collie and the woman is in a group that is trying to keep the breed going here in the US. Gypsygirl, being spayed at the rescue shelter won't be any help in that regard. But it is nice to know what sort of dog she really is.
Google up Scotch Collie or English Shepherd. They look remarkedly just like Gypsygirl. Seems also the little topknot is called a 'knowledge knot'.
The woman and LSA had quite a nice visit and of course, Gypsygirl was good as gold.
