The Hobbit Hole XXV - Fare you well! Fare you well!
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 10/15/2005 7:13:08 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Fare you well! Fare you well!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

It is amazing the things kids instantly pick up on with no explanation needed.

I know. BittyGirl just adores Hair's monster pictures. She actually loves small furry animals in general. Ben, our cat will sit there and just take her "love," whereas my mother's cats run in terror. She is really quite good with them though. She just beats on them (petting) and does not yank or pull at their ears or tails.

She loves doggies too. We have two of them ~ a black Lab, and an Austrailian Shepherd. All dogs are a "dah" and all the black ones she calls "Sadie" (our little shepherd's name).

Very cool about BA CHEF! We went on a field trip yesterday wuth the PaloPinto HS group. Course, we are not anywhere near Palo Pinto county, we just didn't have enough interest in the field trip and had to combine our efforts with theirs.

We went to Dublin to tour the oldest Dr. Pepper plant in the country. We came home with some souvenirs. 3 six packs of Dublin Dr. Pepper, a T-shirt for me and for BittyGirl, a shot glass for PE, and a teeny tiny bottle of Dr. Pepper for KarateBoy.

The kids and I spent the night at mother's so that we would not have to leave home at 5am and battle rush hour traffic in Dallas AND Fort Worth. It was a very nice trip. We may go again real soon and take my mom with us, granted she can get the day off.

We talked through the heat pump as well and decided it wouldn't be warm enough for Nana.

Always did think gas heat 'felt' warmer.

Heathen! It's RC Cola and Moonpies.

Anything else just isn't proper.

It is snowing pretty good here now. Big flakes because it is just barely cold enough. It will not stay this time but it looks nice.

Would it help any if I told you I'm down 19 lbs. since August?

Wow! Yaaaaaay you! That's great!

And no it doesn't help, but being home with my sympathetic sweetie and pizza for dinner and chocolate for dessert sure does!

I'm logging off too. Steve is coming home early to give me time to get to my meeting.

My word but life is busy this year! Last year was so dreadful is so many ways that I feel like I've climbed up out of a pit! I feel like Bilbo with my head above the branches in Mirkwood!

I'm off!
