Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yeah probably but he might deny it to his friends. By that age he could have been a fan and have all the toys but almost but not quite out grown it.
To: Corin Stormhands
Heh, I never watched 'em either... I would think that a 14 year boy could be a fan, though.

It was for the ninja reference. I think I've managed to work that and the toaster into the same chapter. That ~should~ complete the "requirements" for me, I hope.

Ditto the mildly insulted... have I ever mentioned that I watched no actual television in my childhood (after age 4) except Star Trek?

Somebody hold my hand, I'm skeered. I just got ~good~ news.
Got my leave reconciliation report fer the year. Apparently I have an extra 16.5 hours of comp leave I'd forgotten about. I thought I used it for beach week, but I didn't.
So, there's that.
To: Corin Stormhands
Wow.... so where ya gonna go on your two days off?

I'll use 'em between Christmas and New Years. It'll save me some annual leave.
I get Friday the 23rd off, and I'm not coming back to work until Tuesday, January 3rd.

Oh look, the company updated it's camera policy. Now I don't have to hide the front of my cell phone anymore :D
To: TalonDJ; RosieCotton; JenB
I was gonna name the blonde bartendress "Rosie Cotton" but since she and her unborn child get killed off in a back alley in the French Quarter, I didn't think that would be very nice.
To: JenB
My college has now switched to semester system. But when I was there we were on the quarter system. They set up Christmas break so we could sign up to work with the Salvation Army.
We'd leave the week before Thanksgiving and come back between Christmas and New Years. It was vey nice.
