Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Steve is going to Stillwater. Going to have a meeting with his committee. Apparently there is a glimmer of hope for the thesis, the other members of his committee think he can pull it off. Still think it will take another semester, but it can possibly be done.
On the one hand, I'm glad...but on the other I'm anxious. It's that "possibly" that worries me.
I'll let you know when he is going...I'm not sure when. They're still trying to coordinate.
PS: OSU-Tulsa is a 'branch" of Oklahoma State University...which is in Stillwater. Which is why he has to go there. Tulsa is in NE Oklahoma...Stillwater is in north central Oklahoma.

I hope that the matter of improving the advisement situation can be resolved, too.

Good morning, good luck to Steve...
And Good Morning to everyone else!

You and me both, sis.
But it's the advisor that is organizing the meeting.

As long as it is going to take another semester can he hedge his bets by doing the extra credits too? Then either way he can be done in one.

I hope that it works out for him...if it doesn't, then what happens? I can't even imagine the frustration you both must be going through.
Blessings on your family, Mrsnad

I must be losin' it... ran two trespassers off openin' mornin', and they both lived... I had a neighbor growing up who posted signs all around his property: "No tresspassing. Violators will be shot. Survivors will be prosecuted."
To: TalonDJ
I'm not sure how it's going to work out...I'll ask him after the meeting about the hours. It is one of the questions he has written down.

Well, that's what concerns me. If he gives another semester to that thesis only to be told in the end that it's not acceptable then he'll have to do the "creative component" option and that'll take even more time and money.
I almost wish they'd just tell him to do the creative component and get it over with.

AAAAAAIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
Our in ground oil storage tank has a leak. We just sent 225 gallons of oil (bought in October) into the James River Watershed...
Service goober is on his way to check out our options.
(I'm not really here posting this...)
To: Corin Stormhands
Shhhh.....don't tell the EPA you watershed contaminator, you!
That really bites!
On the other hand, the furnace is okay, right?

Well, technically the furnace is okay. But if I have to go to the expense of a new tank, especially another in ground tank, I may consider the cost of just going with a heat pump.
Then again, I may be crazy.
To: Corin Stormhands
Oh - Corin, . If there is an option to abandon the underground tank and install a new one, without notifying anyone, I'd do that. If you report this and they make you responsible for removing all affected dirt, this will be VERY expensive. I'm sorry.

What're heat pumps going for these days? I seem to recal that they cost less than a gas furnace. I paid around $5K for that gaspak I bought for theoldhouse before I moved.
