Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Prayers up, sis.
I finally got a couple hours worth of babysitting tonight and decided to be impulsive and go to the Miami NaNo kick-off at a local coffee house. It was delayed due to Wilma.
There were about 10 of us and it was a good time, even though the subject immediately turned to politics and I discovered I was the only conservative of the bunch. LOL!
I smiled and stayed quiet for the most part, but joined in on the jokes and writing part of the conversation. But I made sure that they saw my W'04 bumper sticker in the back window as I drove away.
*wicked smile*
I can only imagine what they must have thought.

Heh, the FoCo group was like that last year. It was sort of fun to watch the dramatics after Election Day!

Correction: weapons were turned in "shotgunned" (the rear receiver pin out, and the weapon opened on the pivot pin) and the bolt held separately. The armorer thus did not clear it; depending on the armorer, he might inspect it, instruct the soldier to reassemble and dry-fire it, then take it into the Arms Room; or, inspect it, reassemble and dry-fire it himself.
When I was Supply Sergeant (first-line supervisor of the Armorer), I had my Armorers do it the second way so that they knew it was done when the Top or Six asked him.

FoCo?
They were rattling on and on and I just sat there with a smile plastered on my face thinking "Talk all you want, but my guy won!"

Sorry. Fort Collins. I call us the "FoCoNaNo" group. Because to my twisted brain, that's amusing.

Maybe if you modify that last one a little.....

Ok, I'm relieved that I'm not the only one who is amused by that sort of thing.
Ugh, I got in plenty of words tonight but now I'm trying to get ahead on homework...

I am pretty behind still and going to be quite sore tomorrow from karate. Homework, ug. You win.
To: Corin Stormhands
Hmmm.... well, ordinarily, I'd say I'd wear a nice dress, but since I'm such a renegade in the story, perhaps I would wear something in his honor, something sentimental, like a t-shirt from a Rolling Stones concert we both went to. I'm not sure!

One of these words just doesn't belong...
