The Hobbit Hole XXV - Fare you well! Fare you well!
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 10/15/2005 7:13:08 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Fare you well! Fare you well!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I love the topic of responsible animal ownership.

Here's a thread, btw, on the subject of keeping horses, I've been posting on this morning...

People love horses. the payback is that they will break your bones, your bank and your heart

I dunno how I'm gonna get ninjas in my story. I have lots of llamas, though.

And the newest character is a badger named Guido.

Ninjas are sooo easy to get in, they just sneak in. All you have to do is have them pop out.

MC has a date with Guido tonight. The ninjas will appear on an animated t-shirt (quantum-dot displays can be made integrated into thin materials, such as fabric in my future world) worn by the tattooed medical technician named after a toaster. :P

My story and characters are very random, but not quite *that* random.

I'm working an odd shift again, like I did much of last week. We're backing up and documenting process machines for the factory, and they're in use all day, so we have to do it in the evenings. We've been going in at noon or one.

It's just to give us something to do until the next batch of computers comes in to be set up. I don't like working evenings, but the alternative is that they send the two of us temps home for a week without pay, and I'd MUCH rather not... ;-)

In your case, they can burst out of the casket.

Oh, mercy, it was atrocious! Even worse than last year's November sweeps entry!
