Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'd want to be able to record live music. I think most are able to record basic voice messages and that's it - not very high quality. But it's been awhile since I did any kinda research! Couple of years, at least.

That would be a dweeb. He may aspire to geekdom someday but he is not yet there.

The kitty is just curious!
I copped out and watched another movie. I think I need to sleep on this NaNo thing. Got one more character to establish and stuff but so far I've got:
pawnshop
toaster
Guido
llama (well....llama wool)
badger (kind of)
cheese sandwich
What's left? Just aloe and ninja?

And Hair. Apparently we're all putting her in.

I haven't gotten to the toaster. My main character is now stranded in Alaska. Have to figure out how to get him from there to the Dark Realm. Maybe the llamas can come in. Or maybe Guido will pilot the next leg of the trip.
I'm kinda stuck. What method to use for going from real world to fantasy? Hm...

Oh! I didn't know about Hair.
Can the character live in any location, or does she have to be in the Northwest?
To: RosieCotton
Let Hair fly him in!
To: Rose in RoseBear
Heh...I'd be nervous about writing folks I know. And I still need a portal or something...the first part took place in a normal modern world, where the MC is a computer tech. And he doesn't believe in magic.

I don't know, I think I'm just going to have a pilot named ***** (Hair's real name).

If y'all don't mind my relocating you to West Texas, I can fit you, ecurbh, and even Ramius in just fine!
A small horse farm for the two of you, Hair and ecurbh. Ramius, how would you like to work at a private spaceport?

That's what Jen had suggested. She also suggested I have the pilot give him a parachute and just drop him. Which could be interesting, as I've already established that he's really, really nervous about heights.
Should also make towers fun later on.

Let Gidget goose him and send him out the door ... at 15,000 feet.
She'd do it.

LOL! Use Gidget, too? That could be fun...
In any case, whoever I use as a pilot is gonna hafta argue with Bob for awhile about the whole jumping out of a plane deal. He's not gonna be happy to hear that's in the plans. He only knows one step at a time, so this will all be news to the guy. Should take lots of words to explain and discuss it...
Yeesh...week one almost over and he still hasn't arrived in the Dark Realm yet. I dunno that I'm gonna finish at 50k. Or during November.

Everything strange on the internet eventually traces back to Japan. Amen. that yatta thing is highly disturbing.
As is this: Swedish/Lebanese thing. Click on the guy in the hat. *shudder*

A small horse farm for the two of you, Hair and ecurbh. I'm thinking a resort-like horse 'farm'/stables in Ohio - horses in my storyline are very retro and very upper class. Oh and Hair and Ecurbh will survive the great calamity. (Can't put you in my story just to kill you off - it just isn't nice.)
To: HairOfTheDog; ecurbh
er, meant to ping you to my previous.
To: JenB
Hair?!
Well I was going to have somone shop at the pawnshop for a cheap DVD player. The toaster's supposed to kill him.
I guess I could make her a pawnshop shopper that barely escapes.
