Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

The excitement will return once PJ starts filming The Hobbit! Agreed. But you have to admit that first year or two was sorta magical...in a totally heterosexual conservative kind of way. We won't reclaim ~that~.
But that's not to snark at what we have now. That's important too.
Hair's request to attend my nanowrimo funeral has given me an idea. If I do this thing next year, I'm makin' y'all the central characters. With names suitably changed to protect the innocent...and g'nad.

Now that sounds fun...
Would be fun if everyone did that, but didn't share too much about the plots till it was over... :~D

I tried to get Rosie to do that this year but she was too chicken.
Maybe I'm biased but I'm really quite happy with ~some~ of the more recent changes to the Hole...

Were you in chat the night that I shared the plot?
Here it is in a nutshell...and there are lots of variables coming into play.
High profile political consultant (former Congresscritter). Has a family with five grown kids. He also has girlfriends in about 6 major cities.
Somewhere along the line, one of the girlfriends was in an accident (although I'm changing those circumstances) but mental damage has made her think she's his wife.
He supports her for years with money from his wife's trust fund. He's then killed by "accident" (hmmmm?) in an assassination attempt on the president (who escapse unharmed).
This is his funeral and the book will deal with how the wife finds out and what she does about it.

Well, then you have to throw in the widow's mother who orchestrated everything, had the kid adopted out to the widow's best friend (Guido's daughter), and the lawyer son in rehab who helps his mother figure it all out...

That is just awesome, Hair!!
The power is still out. Apparently they had some sort of "major event" and a hugh area is out. So I hauled everything, all our HomeSat tapes, our books, VCR/TV combo and everything to the library and aquisitioned a study room. We are actually almost done with the essentials that we just can't get behind in. Matthew only has his reading to do and Joshua and I finished up without the use of the tapes. (His is very easy and I wouldn't even use the tapes with him but he loves them!)

Cheese sandwiches attract badgers...they're both from Wisconsin.
