The Hobbit Hole XXV - Fare you well! Fare you well!
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 10/15/2005 7:13:08 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Fare you well! Fare you well!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Complete brain-fry for the day. Chapter 1 is up. Chapter 2 is started. And I'm cross-eyed.

I haven't started writing for the day yet. *sigh* Kind of a not-fun day. And tomorrow we're working a sort of swing shift in order to work on machines that can't be touched during the day, so I dunno how much writing I get in then, either.

Yay.

You've got two thousand words more than me, none of this silly "waste of the day" nonsense.

Work was very dull. My report is all outlined and ready to plunk data in it I'm waiting for the data to finish crunching and then I'll be busy again. I did have to sit through an outrageously long and boring bored meeting that inspired the "gotta go pee" scene. There's always a silver lining.

Maybe my brain wouldn't be so addled if I had wasted a bit more of the day. :(

I don't have much if any opportunity to write at work. SO I'm outta luck there.

And tonight I'm pretty mentally worn out and depressed. After dinner I'm gonna attempt to write something, but...

When did that get added to the list? I don't remember it.

Should be easy it enough to work a casual mention of it into my story, but...

Yay Ruthy!

My heroine was just blackmailed into getting into a car with a stranger. I'm trying to decide if she should listen to the offer or just stab him and run.

I s'pose. But considering it's only for a couple more weeks, it's hard to jump for joy about it.

I hate transition and change. So this is stressing me out, albeit it's much easier than not having a job at all.
