Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I still get a chuckle from the radio program....to think that people believed that it was for real!

Will you guys be there? Rosie, are you going home for Christmas?I can't afford to this year.
I'm gonna be alone. *snif* Not like that's never happened before, but at least in years past I was in Germany with other folks stranded away from family.
At least it's just this once. And I have almost two months to find an adoptive family. ;-)

Hey there!
It's been a slow night with the trick-or-treaters. Had some hope when they started coming around earlier, but I've ony had about two dozen kids come by all night.
~sigh~
And I bought six bags of candy this year too.
*munches on chocolate*

Eggnog, Captain Morgan, dash of nutmeg, warm fire (or foot warmer), good book, snuggly cat, light music, horde of ninja llamas from the future.
To: TalonDJ
Tha llamas beat out the badgers?
Decided on War of the Worlds after all. Grover's Mill is taking a beatin'

hehehe... that's a lot of candy. :-)
Lemme guess... you're looking at jars to see which one you can take to the office to put a big jar of candy out on your desk tomorrow... :-)
The beach doesn't get many trick or treaters anymore like it used to. It runs in generational cycles... methinks.
My apartment won't get any.

Any parent who would let their kid trick-or-treat at an apartment complex ought to be shot.

The ninja llamas from the future already defeated the badgers in the past. Because they are ninja and from the future.
To: TalonDJ
Badgers have no time travel ability?

Ninja llamas from the future are a paranoid lot and tend to go back and take out anyone they think might someday threaten them.
To: Ramius
Well, for the past few years we've almost always run out of candy or come close.
This year the hurricane ruined it for a lot of folks. And it was drizzling a bit earlier, so that must have killed whatever spirit was left in the neighborhood.
