Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

He's already brought it up, btw...
I told him no.
I'd consider another bachelors sometime in the much more stable future...

Cake's done. I love parchment paper! Makes for such a nice easy cake removal!

It was on the top of the telephone pole in the back yard this morning making a loud cry over and over...Ours do that from up in the trees, or when you hear them fly over.
Since all their prey hides when they scream like that, I always wonder why they annonce their presence. Seems like stealth would be better.

Steve is looking in to teaching at the University of Phoenix here in Tulsa. You have to have 5 years experience in your field (he has) and a master's degree...(he will any minute).
From what I undestand, you teach a class 4 hours once a week, for five weeks and you get paid something like $900-$1100 a class (at the end of five weeks, you know.)
He could do that till he found a job and even afterward if he liked it. Which I know he would.

You mean you don't grease and flour your cake pans?

Just the sides. I spray the sides with Pam.
I tell ya, I hate the way grease feels. I hate it feels even when I use a paper towel to smear it on the pan. Invariably I get some on my hands.
I don't like stuff on my hands, you know. Dish water, dry towels, lotion, grease.
I don't mind gloves.

My friend that was helping me with my pictorial directory told me about it. Her husband lost his job and it got them through. (You're supposed to be working, but sometimes they make an exception and since he was already experienced with them, they kept him teaching.)
It would be nice to have that little bit of land, you know...I'd like 25 hens and 25 meat chickens (so many meat chickens i wouldn't get attached, you know.)

I usually use the wax paper wrappers from butter sticks.

That's a really good deal. Also I think most community colleges hire people with master's degrees and experience. It's something I've wondered if I'd be able to get a job doing, part time or evenings, while I'm raisin' kids.

I hadn't thought about community college!
The thing I like about this is it's a 5 week commitment, from what I understand.

Noooo! I use the buttery side to grease the pans and then flour the pans.

Oh! LOL!
I don't ever have a buttery side! We take the butter out and put it in an old antique butter dish. It actually holds a pound of butter.

When I unwrap a stick, I save the papers and use them for greasing purposes.
The biscuits are gone...oh well.

They have enough butter clinging to them then, eh?
I'll say.
