Yeah, it got to where I just quit reading threads about Harriet Miers before she withdrew. Folks had just lost their minds!
I'm sure it's even worse for you because you KNOW your candidate.
SirKit got in about 1:30 am from his Portland trip, and we visited with the kid for a while. None of us rolled out of bed before 10 this morning, and the only reason we woke up that early is that his brother called him to chat. We had pancakes around 1:30 pm and he went back to bed! He gots jet lag BAD!
My sister lent my this book which I finished during the course of this hurricane week. :-D

Just started the sequel.

I'm really enjoying them! And the author is a teenager. Amazing!
The author is a homeschooled teenager!
What did you think of the hurricane, Ruthy? I thought it was a glancing blow. A very hard blow, but glancing. My 74 year old neighbor agrees, but nobody else seems to.
So I read! He's an incredible young man.
The movie for the first book is coming out next year.
Well, it can always be ~worse~.
Considering that most of the damage was not to homes, I would say that it wasn't a devastating storm.
It was worse than Katrina though in terms of trees, street lights, signs, etc.
We still have plenty of intersections with no power and some streets are still blocked off entirely. That wasn't the case with Katrina.
Oh, the DVD from our last year's show is finally coming out. They went all out and re-edited the sound, etc. and made it a much more quality product.
You still interested in seeing it? When I get it I'll make a general announcement and get an address for any of those interested in watching it.
Hi Sam!
Have you got your $2k guvmint card yet?
Hi OT. No, I didn't get it yet. Maybe I'll just deduct it from my 05 tax return next spring :-D
Oh, I didn't know they're making a movie out of the book. I've never read it. Guess I need to do that!
I'd love to see it. We could do a round-robin; I could send it on to the next person on the list when I'm finished watching it.
Heh....guess you could always find a camera to complain to.
I've got your address then. I'll have last years and the year before. I'll send both.
With any luck, another 16 measures and I'm outta here for the night. Rehearsals almost done.
See y'all later.
Yes, far worse than Katrina. I feel fortunate to be powered up already, can still hear the steady roar of generators everywhere outside.
Well, I guess my prediction that we'd avoid being hit was a little off, since we got nailed twice, and nearly 3 times!
I'm voting that we hire a new goalie for next year.
Yeah, some of the melodrama is driving me crazy.
At least the kids are happy, got a week off from school.
Good Evening Sam, OT: Pretty good day today despite a Sears misadventure. The cordless drill's batteries didn't recharge so set off for the 'World's Largest Store' outside of the shire. "Is your drill over two years old?" the salestype asked questionly. I thought for a moment realizing that I had probably hadn't bought an electric anything since Y2K. There's a 'chance' they may still have the battery and or recharger at the Front Street store. Sigh.
But seeing that today was so bright and sunny, we decided to head south and fling some arrows at plastic deer, turkeys, javelinas and one lone Velociraptor. Gypsygirl accompanied us and she thoroughly enjoyed her long walk in the woods, being as enthusiastic at the end of course as she was at the beginning. Only broke two arrows, I know, if you hit the target they don't break, rocks break arrows... The new osage bow performed admirably. The bamboo arrows held up much better than the cedar ones.
Watched a taped Masterpiece Theater, Sherlock Holmes "The case of silk stockings" The game's afoot.
My Milwaukee drill driver was bought in the mid 80's, forget which year. The batteries don't hold a charge so long anymore, but the thing still does a good job. Used most recently for installing my plywood shutters last week.
Hi, Osage, sounds like nice weather up there.
