Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

There were a few veiled comments about them between the store owner and the cop... when they were talking about it being someone who knows the store.

Wow...a bit of excitement, eh?
I'm at the library...my internet won't connect at the house for some reason.

It's sprinkling on and off here, and somewhat chilly. Guess hiking is out. *sigh*
But it's nice weather for goofin' off, which is good, too. Just not as conducive to getting in shape. ;-)

There's been too much late night excitement related to that store.

Hi 2J!
If you have high-speed internet at the library, be sure to check out the hurricane video. :-D

Did my walkabout this morning. On tap for today is to get the laundry done and clean the house. Also need to tweak the plot this weekend.
Oh yeah....I'm going to try drying some cramberries.

Cranberry juice stains and I don't want polka dots on the bottom of my cabinets.

I've got a list of scenes that kinda have a beginning middle and end. Need some more in-depth character stuff to do and to make sure these scenes actually make some sense. I suppose I should make an outline to keep me on track.

Outlines are for sissies!
Yeah, I guess I should do that, too. Or at least come up with a basic plotline!

Outlines are for people who want to increase their chance of winning.
I am seriously doubting whether I'll make it this year but hey, I'm gonna do my best.

Heh....guess I'm a sissy. Otherwise I would just wander about....kinda like Robert Jordan.

I have yet to read any Robert Jordan. I'm ALMOST curious enough to attempt one, but not quite.

The thing is, his first book is ok. Total Tolkien derivative, but ok. And the second and third aren't bad. And then you get further... and the things that were mildly annoying, like lack of plot movement, total inability to write a female character, and lack of internal consistency, start to get you.
