Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Mornin'!
Headache's gone. :-D
Hair - I'm e-mailing you a clip of the hurricane. It's a zipped avi file, so tell me if you can get it to work please.
I'm way new to this technology.

It's too big. Even zipped.
34.6 MB.
I'm going to have to capture 15 seconds instead of 30 to see if maybe that will allow me to send something. :-/

OK. I could only get 6 seconds in order to get the zip file to stay under 10MB (my e-mail limit).
It should be in your Inbox shortly. :-D

Morning!
Brewing a second cup of coffee. ~sip~
Some varmint gnawed my parsley. Guess I'll dig it and the lemon grass up and bring it in tonight.

Good morning!
Having my first cup of coffee and gonna read for a bit. Then were going hiking again, provided the weather remains relatively stable - it's overcast right now.

I've got it!
Here it is! Complete with someone yellin' WAHOOOO!
CP1029_094735_2005.AVI
It's full screen on mine, and might be really high-resolution if 6 seconds is still nearly 9 MB can the software you're taking clips with also make it lower res? That would allow you send a longer clip.

Yeah!!
I'll have to play with it a bit more and see if I can find a way to lower the resolution and get more than 6 seconds.
What happened with the cop?

There was a break in and theft at the store last night.
We heard someone out there before 11:30 some time... a car trying to turn around in the little area between our fence and the store. We heard a thud and I thought they had backed into the horse trailer. I jump out on the porch yelled "HEY! Get out of there!" and they peeled out.
We went out and looked all around at their tracks and tried to figure out what they'd been up to. There was no damage to the horse trailer, figured if they hit it, they must have hit the tongue.
Well, someone took a bunch of beer out the back door of the store last night.

No - no idea.
There's a lot that doesn't make sense. The back door was had to have been accessed from the inside, there was stuff that had been leaning against it... The front door is alarmed and the floor of the store is alarmed, just apparently not the little back store room or the back door.
They didn't take the stuff at 11:30, the store was still open, but they may have gone into the store and out the back... unlocking the door and setting it up to come back later.

The embarassing part was when the cop was getting our names and phone numbers for the report. I couldn't remember my work number. And I've worked there since last March.

Pretty damp and dreary here. ecurbh wants to go hear a community band tonight that's playing some John Williams music.

Sheesh.
Back in the day, I knew fellas that would actually run into the store, grab a 12 and run out to a waiting getaway car.
