The Hobbit Hole XXV - Fare you well! Fare you well!
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 10/15/2005 7:13:08 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Fare you well! Fare you well!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

TurkeyMoot is in CO with Rosie to chaperon

Well, granted Rosie's motives are probably better than my college room-mates (they'd be challenging you to drinking games).

There's plenty of other things to do. Maybe hiking... or snowshoeing, depending on the weather.

But anime is not objectionable....

LMAO!

I won't even pretend to know what you are talking about. I am as anime-ignorant as can be. :-D

Near San Antonio.

Since it is partly 'play it by ear' any detailed explanation would be 'make it up as you go along'.
The short short short version of a 'courtship' type plan is to avoid phyisical stuff and 'alone time' and meet the family early on and get their 'buy-in'. That is the highly simplified version. The key objective is to avoid 'make-it&break-it' emotional entanglements until you are certain the match is good. And avoid the 'fun stuff' until you are married. The main way is family involvement and parental approval. There are plenty of 'guides' out there and most are pretty impractical. Especially for adults not living at home.

Bishie is short of bishounen, "pretty boy". Think Legolas :D

bishies: Bishonen: literally 'pretty boy', in anime a way to pretty male sometimes of ambiguous orientation.

Courtship is a nice complicated thing. Popular in homeschool circles. It's supposed to give you a good idea whether you're suited for each other without having as much opportunity for being hurt if you're not.

I'd say it's more an attitude than a set course of action.

I would call it the opposite. The attitude without clear actions is highly fallible in the face of hormones and emotions. The action without the attitude still kinda works.

Hmmm... by attitude I mean "way of looking at things" that then means the course of actions makes sense. Not "emotional state of being". Does that make it different?

Ok, I'll have to go find the manual and look it up.

Wait, I don't have a manual....

Ok maybe both are on a pretty even standing but they are both needed for the 'plan'. The point is it is really hard to guard your heart.

Yah... that's definitely the key. Hearts are dangerous things when you let them do the thinking for you.

Hearts are the only thing that will make all this process seem worth doing in the first place :~D

Good luck to you. We wish ya the best.
