New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Still round the corner there may wait |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |

The music for M. Night Shyamalan's movies is lovely. I think James Newton Howard has done most, if not all of the more recent ones.
Well, I'm a bit of a filmscore geek. So that's my excuse. ;~D
LOL!! I actually enjoyed Waterworld! One of my favorite scenes is when Costner's character is attacking the Exxon Valdez to save the little girl. He drops a flare down into the bowels of the ship to blow it up. There's a wizened old man standing at the bottom of the shaft, and when the pool of oil catches fire and starts to blow, the old man gets a very peaceful look on his face and says, "Oh, thank God!"
I just think it's rather surprising to find them unable to get along now after working so well together before (PJ and Shore). Unless they were only really enduring each other during LoTR, in which case I wouldn't have thought they'd have volunteered to work together again in the first place.
I dunno... seems strange. What could be controversial about the score in a gorilla movie?
I have my social security card *somewhere*. I also have a passport *somewhere*, which would work even better.
*sigh*
Wish I was more organized. You'd think I'd learn, but...
It actually happens quite a bit... here's a list of rejected filmscores just from the past ten years (the replacement composer in brackets).
1995
ASSASSINS - Michael Kamen [Mark Mancina]
THE INDIAN IN THE CUPBOARD - Miles Goodman [Randy Edelman]
THE PEREZ FAMILY - Zbigniew Preisner [Alan Silvestri]
THE SCARLET LETTER - Elmer Bernstein [John Barry]
1996
LAST MAN STANDING - Elmer Bernstein [Ry Cooder]
MARVIN'S ROOM - Thomas Newman [Rachel Portman]
MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - Alan Silvestri [Danny Elfman]
PICTURE BRIDE - Cliff Eidelman [Mark Adler]
RANSOM - Howard Shore [James Horner]
2 DAYS IN THE VALLEY - Jerry Goldsmith [Anthony Marinelli]
WHITE SQUALL - Maurice Jarre [Jeff Rona]
1997
AIR FORCE ONE - Randy Newman [Jerry Goldsmith]
KISS THE GIRLS - Carter Burwell [Mark Isham]
MOUSE HUNT - Bruce Fowler [Alan Silvestri]

THE SIXTH MAN - Randy Edelman [Marcus Miller]
THE WINGS OF THE DOVE - Gabriel Yared [Edward Shearmur]

SUPERNOVA - Burkhard Dallwitz [David Williams]

WHAT'S THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN? Marc Shaiman [Tyler Bates]
ZOOLANDER - BT [David Arnold]
2002
THE NEW GUY - Nick Glennie-Smith [Ralph Sall]
I think it was the opening score of "Yes, We Have No Bananas" that started the whole problem...
ROTFL!
ROFL!!
As I just said across the table... ;~D
The part that surprises me is not that composers get fired, but that these two that worked together well and with considerable success before, could now just not get along anymore.
"Howard, I don't think you are taking my gorilla movie seriously!"
*laughing*
DAY-OH! Me say DAAAAY-OH!
:-D
It was just a bit of fun! ;o)
BTW, if you get a package from me this week, don't be disappointed that you're not really getting what the box says.
I am ~not~ sending you a box of frozen corndogs.
;-)
You'll be asked to fill out a W-4 and an I-9, chica.
The W4 is for your federal tax deductions and the I9 is for work eligibility. If you have a US passport, expired is fine, that will be all they need for the I9.
Otherwise, a drivers license (or other form of picture ID) will be needed for list B and a social security card, birth certificate or other proof of Citizenship will be good for List C.
Oh! And yes, I love Reeses, especially Reeses Pieces. Skipped them today though. When I went to get the oil change, I spotted a Dairy Queen next door. I got a Butterfinger Blizzard. Yummy.
Mmmm...Butterfinger Blizzard...
So...if I CAN'T find my SS card or passport, would a driver's license + birth certificate be enough?
I know they're here somewhere and I plan to find 'em, but...otherwise...
Those 2 forms of ID are perfect. :-D
