Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;

Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone

Tree and flower and leaf and grass,

And take the hidden paths that run

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,

Then world behind and home ahead,

Heck yeah! They were great... I still have a copy of one of the EB books put out by Scholastic in the early 70s, up at my Mom's house.
