Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Change a tire? Sure!
But I should probably get a better jack than the one that came with the car. ;-)

maybe, but that one is usually less risky if you are new to it... sorta
To: TalonDJ
Really? I'd think it was flimsy being that it's sorta a freebie.

A lot of the times that jack is specially made to work with the car... a "generic" jack doesn't work as well.
To: RMDupree
some are. but they often fit in a premade slot and hence are less likely to fall off from user error in placement
To: TalonDJ; Bear_in_RoseBear
Wow! I didn't know that.
Glad I asked.

Change a tire? heck... I can do that over the phone. :-)

The little owners manual thing should cover all that stuff. it is pretty straight forward.
Jack it up until the tire is BARLY touching the ground. loosen the bolts, jack a little more, pull tire off, put on new one, put on bolts by hand until they are all down but not tight. tighten them a little at a time alternating between them, not around the circle but jumping across it back and forth until they are all plenty tight. Alternating gets it evenly seated.
